Founded on a single rule.
No client receives advice a partner has not personally read and signed. Everything else about Intellectual Advocates follows from that one commitment.
In 2021, Shyam Sunder Malhotra founded the firm “Intellectual Advocates” with a vision to protect the marks with due care, and with a view that sensibility lies in commitment and promises which enhances the clients’ confidence.
Intellectual Advocates was built around the two things every trademark still comes down to: the document a right is recorded on, and the mark that distinguishes one maker from every other. We protect both, for brands that intend to last.
Five years on, the bench has grown but the rule has not changed. We remain deliberately small, deliberately senior, and deliberately candid about what is worth filing and what is not.
“A trademark is a promise to a stranger that the thing they’re buying is really yours. We make that promise enforceable.”
— Shyam Sunder Malhotra, Founder
Four convictions, kept stubbornly.
Partner-signed advice
Every substantive opinion is read and signed by a partner. No file is too small for senior eyes.
Fixed fees, no surprises
Defined work carries a defined fee. Government charges pass through at cost — you see the whole bill before we start.
Strategy before paperwork
We file because there is a plan, not because there is a form. Clearance and class strategy come first.
Protection that persists
A certificate is a beginning. Our watch and portfolio work keep your marks enforceable for the long run.
Meet the people behind the rule.
